Loy Krathong Festival, this is a Thailand’s festival of lights, it is held annually on the evening of the 12th lunar month, usually in November. The most famous and popular part is the launching of a “krathong” which is a floating lantern carrying candles, sticks, and all of your wishes. This festival become to be the must see festival and if you believe in luck, jamming in is a 'must do'. This is one of those celebrations that all ages absolutely adore and will certainly be one of their fondest memories of their visit to any parts of Thailand. As the sun dips below the horizon and the full moon begins to rise into the sky, take your krathong to the nearest beach, canal or similar watery area and then release it. The belief is that if the krathong floats away, then the coming year trends bring good fortune, on the other hand, if it floats backwards, then perhaps your luck may not be good as you had wished.

New Year's Eve in Phuket, actually, there are all the places can celebrate New Year. They can easily break down into general areas, based on the types of party have been provided. There is no special significance about New Year in Thai culture really. It is because Thai and Buddhist New Year is Songkran, in April. However, the local people like to have a party, therefore there are sure to be plenty of special events organized all over Phuket on both day time and at night especially, around Patong area where is plenty of pubs hotels and restaurants.
